ROTTENNESS is a brutal death metal band hailing from Merida, Mexico, established in 1994. As of 2024 the

band consists of a brand new lineup consisting of Rene Martinez (ex-Stabbing, Flesh Hoarder), Meryl

Martinez (ex-Stabbing), Jorge Dominguez (Sacrificial Slaughter), Matthias Joyce (Formless Master,

Invidiosus), and Jaleel Castillo. Founded in the mid 90's, ROTTENNESS has made their name touring Mexico,

the United States, Europe, Asia and South America—playing hundreds of shows in dozens of countries,

including festival performances at Obscene Extreme, Meh Suff, Bogota Deathfest, Chicago Domination Fest,

Tokyo Deathfest, and Maryland Deathfest, alongside tours with MALIGNANCY, FUCK THE FACTS, CEPHALIC

CARNAGE, and many more. ROTTENNESS recently released their newest LP, ‘Violentopia’(SELFMADEGOD

RECORDS), featuring guest performances by members of Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroyer, Unidad Trauma

and Abysmal Dawn, mixed by Rob Caldwell (Cannibal Corpse, Municipal Waste, Devourment) and Davide

Billia (Hour of Penance/Anthropofagus). ROTTENNESS aims to continue recording music and performing as

much as possible, bringing their professional yet off-the-rails, Mexican-American style of brutal death metal

to as many cities and countries as possible.
